Hey sports fans, the 21st annual Chicago Sports Fans Choice Awards ® - a star-studded sports awards show was a huge success!
This year we presented a Commitment to Excellence Award to the Chicago Blackhawks organization, and honored the Chicago Wolves on their Calder Cup Championship. Your 2008 Rising Star honors went to Matt Forte of the Bears and Ryan Dempster of the Cubs took home the MVP award. And this year we had the pleasure of saluting former Bear - Dan Hampton for all he's done for the city of Chicago and our fans.

We also honored a group of dedicated Chicago athletes in our Hometown Heroes segment. These players were recognized specifically for their work in the community, and for being strong role-models to our local youth. This year's recipients included: Israel Idonije- Bears, Diego Gutierrez - Fire, Russ Michna - Rush, Coach Steven Key - Sky, and from the Wolves, Jordan LaVallee.
