Hey sports fans, the 23rd Annual Sports Fans Choice Awards Show took place December 7th, and was a huge success!
Your MVP winner this year was Jonathan Toews from the Blackhawks, and Rising Star honors were shared between Derrick Rose of the Bulls and Johnny Knox of the Bears. Thanks for voting Chicago - things were head to head in one of our most exciting voting contests ever!
This year we paid special Tribute to the memory of Walter Payton, and all of the wonderful work his foundation does not only here in Chicago but in cities across the country.
We also honored those athletes who give of themselves to humanitarian causes within the commuity, without any desire for publicity. This year's Hometown Hero recipients included; from the Fire, CJ Brown; from the Wolves, Nathan Oystrick and from the Bears, Rashied Davis.
Players from all of Chicago's pro teams were in attendance at this closed to the public event.
