Hey Sports Fans - Superbowl is now over, but once again SppSports put you in the spotlight!
Our 2nd annual Stars vs Studs Competition was a alot of fun, as the Studs took on the Stars at the Nytex Sports Center on Friday February 4th.
Your Cowboys team comprised of: Chris Gronkowski, Martellus Bennett, Quinton Aaron (of the movie The Blind Side), Chad Ochocinco, and Sam Young.
The Stars team featured; NFL Alumni Doug Flutie, Leon Washington of the Seahawks, Billy Blanks - Tae Bo Creator, Omar Benson Miller of CSI Miami, and Kevin Sorbo of the Hercules TV series .
The teams ran the 60 foot obstacle course, relay races, sung in a "rap-off", battled a fierce game of dodgeball, and wrapped up with the tug of war. When all was said and done, we were at a stalemate, a final round of dodgeball was needed to declare this year's winner!
There was live entertainment, featuring up 'n coming Def Jam recording artist Lil Niqo, and the Flutie Brothers Band/
In the end, it was the Stars who won this year's bragging rights - better luck next year Studs!
The action continued Saturday, when we headed back to Nytex for our 10th annual Celebrity Flag Football Game. Despite the weather, we had a great turnout!
This year's teams comprised of; Doug Flutie, AJ Feeley, Rob Gronkowski, Chris Gronkowski, Marcus Stroud, Quinton Aaron, Myron Lewis, Billy Blanks, Louis Murphy, Dan Gronkowski, Antonio Smith, Leon Washington, Jason Fox, Anthony Armstrong, Richard Marshall, Keith Davis, and fan favorite - hip hop sensation - NELLY.
The game was incredible - the guys played hard, but in the end - Doug Flutie and his team won!
We had a great half-time show, which once again featured Lil Niqo, and the Flutie Brothers Band.
Saturday night we hosted a special VIP Bash at 300 - guests enjoyed a light buffet, sampling stations, bowling, billards, and a charity poker tournament.
Net proceeds from the silent auctions held at all three events will benefit the local Dallas area Boys & Girls Clubs and the pediatric cancer ward at the Dallas Children's Medical Center.
